People who think of themselves as Global Citizens do not just concern themselves with local issues – although local issues are important too! Global Citizens can see or will investigate global connections and will be about to put local issues into a global context.

In summary, being a Global Citizen involves
- knowing about your own culture (cultural assumptions and biases, limitations)
- knowing about the world - geography, regions, cultures
- knowing the difference between globalisaiton and internationalisation
- understanding the ethical aspects of global citizenry - including economic/corporate responsibility and sustainability
- being concerned about issues of justice – on a global scale
- having some ideas about - when faced with particular scenarios - what a Global Citizen might do.
