This module does not try to turn you into a Global Citizen – although that would be great! What it does try to do is to get you to understand the issues that Global Citizens concern themselves with - and the implications for Business from both a consumer and a business operator point of view.
People who are concerned about justice on a global scale might be interested in some or all of the following issues – wherever they occur:
- Fair Trade - includes ethical sourcing of materials, labour conditions, who benefits over generations?
- Labour Laws and working conditions
- Environmental issues
- Sustainability issues
- Ethical sourcing
- Corruption – and the costs of corruption on society
- Climate Change
- International Law
- Women’s Rights – particularly in developing countries.
This module will cover some of these themes.
