Symbols

Many of the features of an object that is to be fabricated are represented on a mechanical diagram by the use of symbols. Symbols that would be found on mechanical drawings in the electrical trade would include:

1. Square
2. Diameter
3. Centre line
4. Counter bore (cbore)
5. Depth
6. Countersink (csk)
7. Radius.

The symbol types listed above are included (highlighted with blue colour) in the following sample diagram.
