Disclosure
The NPP's clearly set out our obligations and our customers' rights
regarding disclosure of their personal information. In general you are not permitted
to disclose a customer's personal information to a third party without
the customer's clear consent. This includes disclosure to the spouse,
ex-spouse, parents, children or friends.
The banker's duty of confidentiality extends this rule to all customer
information, regardless of whether the customer is an individual or not.
The rule against disclosure is most important because it causes the vast
majority of our privacy complaints.
