Architectural drawings

Introduction

Architectural drawings relate to new or existing buildings. There are generally two types of drawings that an electrician will need to refer to when working on a building site.

  1. Site plans
  2. Floor plans

The site plan relates to a building's position in relation to the boundaries of the block of land.

The floor plan indicates layout of the building for rooms, windows, doors, switches, appliances, etc.

In each case these diagrams are drawn to scale and use standard symbols to represent specific items.
