Rehabilitation

OHS legislation places duties and responsibilities on employers and workers to participate in rehabilitation programs to restore injured workers to the highest level of physical and social wellbeing.

The employer must make every effort to provide or obtain reasonable employment for an injured worker, and cooperate in retraining.

The injured worker has a duty to undergo reasonable assessment, rehabilitation and appropriate job training. Benefits may be reviewed if reasonable effort is not being made.
