When excessive current flows through a person it may result in muscular contractions, severe internal burns and cardiac arrest. The severity of the electrical shock depends on a number of factors including:
- the amount of current
- the resistance of the body
- the time in contact with supply.
The physical effects of current have advantages and disadvantages. Advantages include uses as a diffibulator or nerve tester. Disadvantages include potential to cause death and severe injury.
