Action research cycle one: Audit of ALTC projects
The first action research cycle consisted of developing a desktop audit of completed ALTC funded projects under the Leadership for Excellence Grant scheme (2006-201) ) was undertaken as the first step in identifying a benchmarking framework for distributed leadership.
The purpose of the audit was to examine these existing distributed leadership capacity building systems using the principles, practices and required action identified in the ASERT developed from project LE9-111. The ASERT identifies the dimensions, values and criteria for a distributed leadership approach to build leadership capacity in learning and teaching. Taken together these factors identify action that can be taken to enable a distributed leadership approach. The intent of the audit was this to see if it was possible to first identify and then evaluate the outcomes of these ALTC funded projects against these dimensions, values, criteria and action proposed by the ASERT.
