Creativity and expertise

There are numerous activities that you can actively practice to improve your creative abilities or  creative mindset. 

Many successful innovators are experts in a field or a particular technology or process, but they also have an opportunistic mindset. 

Here's a simple example of creativity - Excel experts have used spreadsheets creatively rather than to produce lists.

The following are different ways that you can develop creative expertise in your chosen field: 

• Formal study – includes study tours
• Informal study
• Mentoring
• On the job
• Networking  - business breakfasts and networking clubs
• Specific entrepreneurship training
• Explore Open Educational Resources (OERs).
