6.5 A* Single Step

• Start the software running (if necessary)

• If the software was running and you haven't already clicked Reset then do so now.

• Select the A* Search from the Algorithm menu.

• Select the Single Step with/without Algorithm Text from the Mode menu.

• Set the following 8-Puzzle problem:

  Start Board 0 2 3 1 4 5 8 7 6

  Goal Board 1 0 3 8 2 5 7 4 6

• Begin single-stepping through this problem, watching and verifying the algorithm text coincides with the algorithm animation.
