What is TiTo?

TiTo is a peer-mentoring approach to support students as they transition into and out of a university program of study. It was developed specifically for psychology undergraduate programs, but has been adapted and evaluated in other disciplines. If you are considering adopting peer mentoring, this website provides resources to get started.

TiTo is an inclusive teaching approach, using a universal design. In its complete form the model is embedded in the curriculum at both first and third year level, ensuring access for all students. The TiTo model integrates training for third year mentors as course credit. These mentors work with small groups of first year students on a weekly basis, addressing five core aspects of student success, based around first year assessment tasks. TiTo can be adapted for programs where integration into the curriculum is limited. It can be adapted for on campus, online and blended learning environments.
