“Effective leaders are alike in one critical way; they all have a high degree of emotional intelligence.” Goleman, 1998.
The key word here is "effective" - understanding others is important to leading and managing. Managing others includes managing yourself and others in situations of conflict and disagreement.
In the previous sections of this module you worked through activities where you reflected on and suggested evidence for how well you know yourself and how you work with others.
This section of the module looks at leadership. You will be required to think about how well you:
- Read other people
- Express your expectations of their work role and performance
- Set goals for others and give feedback.
