Those in charge of others often need to weigh up the worth of an employee. Working with diversity means that we should all value different attitudes and ways of working – usually because diversity brings creativity, innovation and new perspectives. However, to what extent should you tolerate rude behaviour? For example, the rude genius who gets away with insulting people because they are so good at their job. You also need to consider the problem of giving someone corrective feedback and then they leave – they become really good at what they do, and they leave. Hiring a new person is a risk and takes time and money.
